Designer AF Vandevorst (born 1968) and Filip Arickx (born1971) met each other at Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerp in 1987. Ten years after their graduation, in 1998, this designer husband and wife, AF Vandevorst and Filip, started their journey as a designer duo by launching their first collection in Paris. Before that this Belgian designer duo had established their fashion label in 1997 as AF Vandevorst.
After graduation, initially, Vandevorst worked as an assistant to designer Dries Van Noten. On the other hand Filip, who worked for DirkBikkembergs for three years as a teenager, was working as a freelance designer and stylist.
